About the Rockford Files
The Rockford Files is an American detective (private investigator) television drama which aired on the NBC television network from 1974 to 1980. It was created and often written by Stephen J. Cannell. It stars James Garner as Jim Rockford, a charming ex-convict who lives in (and works out of) a seaside mobile home, drives a Pontiac Firebird, and struggles to make ends meet while serving a rogue's gallery of clients and friends, who often rope him into untenable situations.
